
On July 1st 2007, England became a better place to live. The introduction of the Smokefree legislation was the single biggest improvement in public health for a generation and aimed to recognise a person's right to be protected from harm from secondhand smoke and reduce the risks to their health from exposure to it.
We simply needed to let people know when the new law came into effect and get them to understand why the Government was implementing it, and hopefully support it.
Given the nature of the legislation, we aimed to try and make the crux of it as simple to understand as possible.
